Pathfinder

Pathfinder is our commitment to developing today’s teams and tomorrow’s talent. We believe in structured knowledge transfer—sharing skills, insights, and best practice from experienced professionals to the next generation. This strengthens our workforce while supporting a sustainable future for commissioning across the wider industry.

The MissionCX Pathfinder Programme™ supports both current staff and emerging talent through work experience, apprenticeships, upskilling, and leadership development. And it’s not just about technical expertise—strong business operations capabilities are equally vital to driving high-performing companies like MissionCX.

By investing in our people and communities, Pathfinder ensures commissioning professionals at every stage of their careers have access to the expertise they need to grow, lead, and succeed.

We're Preparing for the Future of Commissioning, Today

The Pathfinder Programme
The MissionCX Pathfinder Programme™ goes beyond structured opportunities, we actively drive community-focused initiatives that link education with industry. Our STEM Ambassadors inspire students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, while our Enterprise Advisor Partnerships help bridge the gap between education and employment, particularly through our collaboration with UTC Energy Coast. Through engaging seminars and workshops, we deliver hands-on learning experiences and industry insights, complemented by tailored career guidance and skills development sessions that equip students and communities with essential skills for the future. Interested in partnering with us? We’d love to hear from you!
Win Week 2026
Work Insight Week (Win) is an exciting new addition to our early careers programme. This immersive week introduces students to the world of commissioning and business operations across the nuclear, energy, and defence sectors— covering the entire lifecycle of a project from design and build to decommissioning. We also touch on the full EPCC process (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning) to give students a high-level understanding of how major infrastructure projects are delivered. Last year’s programme featured inspiring input from industry leaders like BAE Systems, the Royal Navy, and Sellafield, offering real-world insight into roles, innovation, and career pathways. Delivered in collaboration with Energy Coast UTC, the week helps students explore opportunities and connect with industry professionals. Applications are now open— non-UTC students can get in touch to discuss future options.
Wex Week, 6-10 October 2025
Now in its 5th successful year, our award-winning Work Experience Week (Wex) offers students a hands-on introduction to commissioning and it's role within the nuclear, defence and energy sectors - as well as the many business operations functions that aide the successful delivery of projects and contribute to a thriving business. By engaging with both MissionCX team members and our high profile clients and partners, students leave with a deeper understanding of the industry and their career options. Wex will provide students with hands-on experience in commissioning and business operations, and is a great follow on from our Work Insights Week earlier in the year, for those students who enjoyed the programme and want a deeper dive into the world of commissioning and business. It also acts as a feeder for our apprenticeships programme, which we are hoping to launch in September 2026.
Apprenticeships & Training Academy
We are scheduled to launch our apprenticeship program in September 2026. It will offer structured career pathways for school leavers and early-career professionals, blending on-the-job training with professional development. These apprenticeships will ensure participants gain both technical expertise and essential skills, laying the foundation for rewarding careers in the nuclear, energy, and defence sectors. To complement this, our MissionCX Academy, a training hub designed to support apprentices and staff throughout their careers. Apprentices will be selected and headhunted through our Work Insight Week (Win) and Work Experience Week (Wex) , ensuring we identify and nurture the best talent from the start.
