In West Cumbria, some missions go beyond business. Right now, Gary McKee is on one of the most extraordinary challenges yet — and MissionCX is proud to stand alongside him. Because at MissionCX, we’re on a mission too. Not just to deliver projects — but to make a difference beyond them.

The Challenge — 100 Marathons, 100 Days

Many will remember Gary’s incredible 365 marathons in 365 days challenge. Now, he’s doing it again. His latest mission:
100 consecutive marathons, finishing at the London Marathon

This time, it’s even more powerful. His son Beau is alongside him — running every single day as they work towards crossing that finish line together.

Their goal:

Raise £100,000 for Hospice at Home West Cumbria — the registered charity at the heart of Gary’s fundraising efforts.

A charity providing vital palliative and end-of-life care to families across West Cumbria — free of charge. To donate you can visit Gary’s JustGiving Page

Why It Matters

This isn’t just about endurance.

It’s about:

  • Supporting families through the most difficult times
  • Providing care where it matters most — at home
  • Strengthening communities across Cumbria

Challenges like this ensure organisations like Hospice at Home West Cumbria can continue delivering critical care and support.

Where MissionCX Fits — On a Community Mission

At MissionCX, our responsibility goes beyond project delivery. Through our MissionCX Community Programme™ and Maximum Impact Pledge, we are:

On a community mission

We commit our:

  • Time
  • Expertise
  • Resources
  • Profits.

To creating a positive, lasting impact in the communities we serve.

Because strong projects depend on:

  • Strong people
  • Strong skills
  • Strong communities

Read more about our MissionCX Community Programme.

Supporting Gary’s challenge is a natural extension of that commitment.

A Shared Mission

We had the privilege of supporting Gary during his 365 marathon challenge in 2022.

Our Managing Director, Ben Slater, joined him for part of the run — alongside the wider MissionCX team.

It was a powerful reminder of what can be achieved through:

  • Grit
  • Resilience
  • Community

What It Means to Us

As Ben Slater, MissionCX Managing Director reflects:

“What Gary and Beau are doing is nothing short of extraordinary. It’s a powerful reminder of the impact one person — and one family — can have when driven by purpose.

At MissionCX, we believe in supporting the communities we’re part of, and this challenge reflects everything we stand for — resilience, commitment, and making a real difference where it matters most.”

Gary McKee adds:

“It’s brilliant to have MissionCX supporting the challenge again. Their commitment to the community really stands out — it’s not just about sponsorship, it’s about getting behind the cause and helping us raise awareness.”
